The Salvation Army has partnered with Red Dust to deliver an intergenerational Alcohol and Other Drug program on Arrernte lands in Alice Springs for men 18 years and over. The partnership aims to increase engagement and participation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Alice Springs, for better outcomes.
This non-residential program is delivered by facilitators in the form of psycho-educational groups, individual and group therapy sessions called ‘yarns’, vocational training workshops and bush camps. The facilitators are local, initiated Aboriginal men who are active and positive community role models.
