Community and Kindness: Derek Williams Unforgettable Experience

Meet Derek Williams, a police officer from Yuendumu and a long-standing friend of Red Dust.

Last year, he bought tickets for his family to attend the Grand Final in Melbourne, only for a twist of fate to leave them stranded roadside due to two blown tires, missing their flight.

When Red Dust learned of Derek's misfortune, we reached out to our incredible network. Thanks to the generosity of Santo Cilauro and the Collingwood Football Club, Derek and his family were not only provided tickets to the Anzac Day game but also enjoyed a meet-and-greet with the team during training.

The cherry on top? Derek was featured in the audience at this week's episode of the Front Bar, sharing laughs with Mick Molloy, Andy Maher, and Sam Pang.
